At its annual Holiday & Award Luncheon Meeting, on Wednesday, December 16, the Roxbury Area Chamber of Commerce announced its award winners and installed its officers for 2016.

The Earl J. Chrystal Memorial Business Person of the Year Award was presented to Chamber Board Member Joe Eible, in recognition for his work with the Chambers Website, fundraising events including the Taste of Roxbury and the Annual Town-wide Garage and Yard Sales.

Beautification Awards

The Exterior Beautification Award went to the Township Roxbury for the Landing Recreation Complex. The park includes three softball fields, a 3,500 foot walking path, a 2,400 foot walking path loop, a “tot lot” playground area, fully irrigated sports fields, a concession stand and a picnic grove. The Interior Beautification Award goes to Outback Steakhouse in Ledgewood, which has undergone a recent and complete interior renovation making it an ideal candidate to host future meeting and networking events.

In addition to the awards, the Chamber installed three members to its Board of Directors: Maria Russo Farris, Chris Raths, Carol Schenek and Glen Thurnes. Confirmed were the administrative officers for 2016: President Linda Dora, 1st Vice President Nick Wunner, 2nd Vice President Maria Russo Farris and Treasurer Valerie Dolan.

Thanks were also given to out going President Nancy Knight and Treasurer Glenn Thurns. Nancy served the Chamber as president in 2014 and 2015. Glenn had served as treasurer for the past 8 years. Both will continue to serve on the Chamber’s Board of Directors.
